Flight prices change dozens of times a day. FareKite fare alerts watch your routes around the clock and tell you the moment prices drop, so you book at the lowest fare without refreshing search pages.

What is a fare alert?

A fare alert is an automated price tracker for a specific route and date range. Once you set one up, FareKite monitors fares across airlines and sends you a notification when the price falls below your target or drops significantly from recent averages.

How FareKite alerts find lower prices

Continuous price monitoring

FareKite checks fares across hundreds of airlines and booking sources every few minutes. Instead of manually searching each day, you get a single notification when it’s time to book.

Smart price predictions

Each alert includes a recommendation: Book now or Wait. Predictions are based on historical pricing for your route, seasonality, and current demand trends.
Alerts marked “Book now” typically expire within 24 to 48 hours. Act quickly when you see the signal.

Flexible date tracking

Turn on flexible dates when creating an alert to have FareKite watch a wider window (for example, plus or minus 3 days). You’ll be notified whenever any nearby date drops in price, not just your exact travel day.

Multi-airport comparisons

Enable nearby airports on your alert and FareKite tracks fares from every reasonable origin and destination in your area, catching deals from airports you might not have checked.

Tips for getting the best results

  • Set alerts early. The more time FareKite has to track a route, the better it can spot a real drop.
  • Create multiple alerts. Track a few different date combinations or nearby destinations to compare deals side by side.
  • Watch for last-minute drops. Airlines sometimes slash fares 1 to 2 weeks before departure to fill empty seats.
  • Enable push notifications. Fare drops can disappear in minutes, and push alerts reach you fastest.
You can pause or delete any alert at any time from your FareKite account.
